Hi all, We brought home a new Irish setter puppy in may, who has settled in well and now very much part of the family. We have been offered another older puppy 13mths by the same breeder and really want to say yes. However I obviously have one or two concerns. Bailey my 8mth puppy can be quite a handful as puppies are, and just wondering if I would let myself in for double trouble and regret it. On the other hand would another dog be a great companion for him and settle him down somewhat. I have owned 2 dogs in the past (different breeds) but they have been older. Your thoughts please.

I think 2 together would be a great idea but that depends on what training the 13 month old dog has had from the breeder, if it is a well balanced has basic training pup then I would go for it, but if the 13 month old is at the same level as your younger pup then that would be hard work to get them both trained at such a close age, I know people who have litter sisters and they are amazingly well trained and they play so well together and keep each other amused all the time, BUT it was really hard for them to get to that point as the girls would play together and ignore the owners commands so ended up having separate training sessions until they were about 2 years old. Hard decision to be honest good luck whatever you decide :flowers:
