just a quick warning about the dangers of tow bars and whippets, i was at old hall with ruby(helish) waiting for her race ,got her out about a hour before her race to rub her down ,no probs then it came to get her out for her race.

i got her out held her while wendy put on her muzzle then she put on her race jacket as i put her on the ground to make sure she was ok she struggled a bit because there was a bit of shouting for the next race, i put her down on ther ground and set off to the traps then wendy shouted what the f**k is that on her leg i looked down to see a lot of blood on her right rear thigh together with a patch of blood on my jeans so i did a lot of swearing like wtf*ing hell and how the f***ing hell did she do that .

what had happened was when she struggled with me she caught her thigh on the tow bar on the van we have a double one with the metal plate at the back she now has a tear in the shape of a v about 2"at the widest point it looks a lot worse than it is there is a flap of skin and a lot of blood and uck yesterday.we have cleaned it out with saltwater every 4 hours and have put wound powder on she is at the vets tomorrow for a full check up just to make sure ,wendy is in the process of making a pad (pink of coarse)to cover the towbar
