I am due to go to Spain via France on Sunday (29th). I have left the dogs packing until last minute. I don't know what to pack for traveling and staying overnight in Lyon.

Some detail about the traveling- We will set off from my house at approximately 4am on Sunday the 29th of July, then traveling down to Folkston to get the Eurotunnel to Calais (this should take around 35 mins to cross.) Then we will be traveling by car to Lyon where we will spend the night. Then in the morning we will be driving approximately 10 hours to Alicante.

I will need to go to Pets At Home to buy food, treats and flea/worming/ticks/sand-fly/mosquito spot on treatment.

I just don’t know what to pack for the journey. The dogs do not get travel sick so would you recommend in the morning for me to feed them or not? I would also like recommendations for at services what is the best way to help a dog wee and poo quickly or does nature just take its turn?

It would help a lot if you can post comments of what I need to pack for travelling. Thanks I would appreciate it! – Violet :)

Also pop into your vet before you leave to check the microchips are still working and haven't moved - better to find out here than when you are on your way home.

Doris' will most likely work as it was only implanted the other month but will have a look at Olive's microchip. Thanks would never have thought that!

crikey it sounds like a military manoeuvre lol you don't realise how much stuff you need for your dog when traveling. what breeds are your dogs?....I would definitely add gel cooling mats to your list and a doggy antiseptic cream/lotion and of course dog grooming/bathing products eg brush/comb & shampoo, you never know you might need it.
