Hi,

I posted a topic about recall and got some really good advice, but I am still really interested to know what treats your whippets go mad for? I keep doming home from pet shops with pizzles, beef jerkey, i try cheese, chicken (some of our leftovers which he liked). What's your secret weapon when it comes to sweet talking (bunging him/her a bribe) your whippet??

Ours love anything really (w00t) Ive heard chicken liver (cut into tiny bits) topped with a bit of garlic and cooked in oven till crispy are a fave treat with many dogs...apparently some dogs will go wild for them!

Always keep treats tiny though, the size of your fingernail-ish when training to keep them interested and coming back for more!

Just remembered 'spam' cut into little chumks work well and its easy to eat, smells strongish and easy to cut into neat liitle bits too!

Garlic sausage or liver treats from the vets. The liver treats seem really expensive at £5 a pot, but they can be cut up really tiny and still seem the most popular.

Used to use the dog chocolate treats, the recall speed by the dogs can go from , a gentle trot, a not bothered attitude (End of the walk) to reaching full speed with me expecting broken legs !!

Mine go crazy for the dog chocs too. I take a handful with me, and when I need them to come back, I just yell like mad *sweeties* and they've learnt to come a running.

Good luck.

My Billy is VERY fussy, he doesnt take may treats but he likes cheese and Schmacos, think thats how you spell it.

They are a little stinky though :))
