TYE

Please meet the beautiful Tye. She is a lovely 4 year old ex-racing greyhound lady who has spent the past 2 years in a home, but sadly has now come back to us as she was being consistently bullied by another dog. Tye is a beautiful white girl with blue patches and has a very pretty face.
~ Personality ~
Tye is a lovely friendly dog who greatly enjoys being around people. She is happy with the simple things in life and is not overly demanding. All she needs are lots of cuddles, good food and a warm bed and she is content as can be. She has her mad loopy moments in the garden and then is happy to snooze for a lot of the day.
~ In the Home ~
Tye has been living in a home for the past two years, so is well accustomed to the standard sights and sounds of a home. She is no trouble at all - sleeps through the night, is not destructive, is housetrained, and is used to being left with other dogs for company. She will understandably be a bit stressed and confused when she first moves home, and so may have the occasional accident initially, but once she settles she should be fine.
~ Other Animals ~
Tye is very good with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. However, because she has been bullied in her previous home, we think she deserves to go to a home without very boisterous dogs who may be too rough for her or even pick on her. She enjoys the company of other dogs and benefits from their presence, just isn’t one for the rough sports. Tye would be a lovely gentle companion for a timid or shy dog, but she gets on with most dogs and loves meeting new friends on her walks. She is not suitable for a home with cats.
~ Out and About ~
Tye really loves her walks, and enjoys seeing the world. She is used to going to public events and has attended busy rescue fundraisers in the past. She has always been the model greyhound when out and about, and is friendly but calm with everyone she meets. Though Tye loves her walks, she does not require a huge amount of exercise to keep her happy. Two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs a couple of times a week is more than enough for this calm girl.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Am I? ~
Tye is currently in a home in Norwich, Norfolk. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet her.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Tye is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~
Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.
Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.
