As I promised this is an update of Willliam afte his stay at boarding kennels.

He is now much better and is more or less back to his weight before he went in. I recieved the cheque from the boarding kennels for his treatment which was just under £70 which they paid in full . I know it wasn't alot but it was a visit to the vets that I shouldn't have had to make. I wasn't bothered about the kenneling bill as long as the vets bill was paid and my dog was ok.

The wounds have now completely healed but has left him with small scars on his legs but nothing to obvious and very few people actualy notice them

Last weekend we had to go to a family wedding in Essex which mean't another visit to kennels. We took them to a smal kennels just down the road in the middle of the town .They were very good we called round and she showed us the kennels we took our own dogs in and fetched them out she had a big yard were they went 3 times a day. The bill for 4 whippets for 3 nights £32 although I did provide my own food. All 4 came out happy and looking well fed

Zoe went to stay with my mum as we thought she was a little to young to go into kennels and what about William?

Well he spent the weekend with Aunty Tina ( Tinabow) and her family and dogs were he was thoroughly spoilt  and came home happy and content don't think he missed me at all :- "

So here is a picture that Tony took of him during his stay

Thanks Tina Tony Helen and Elizabeth for having the big lad to stay  :huggles:

Helen, he looking good.

Look forward seeing to all soon.

fleet say hi.

ive only just seen the thread about william how on earth did i miss that?tbh im disgusted by the state he was returned to you in. i boarded dogs for years and although dogs can and do fret when they are missing their owners ive never found any dog to resist some tempting little morsel like breast of lamb or any other tasty treat.if the dog wasnt eating their duty of care is to find something that the dog WILL eat! its not rocket science.and sorry as for william had done that injury to himself barking at the dog next door ive heard some rubbish reasons for injuries but that one takes the bloody biscuit! theres no way that i know of that a dog could injure himself like that and i had stud dogs who would fling themselves at the kennel mesh when seeing one another!and they were dobies who are a short coated breed.ive only ever seen sores like that before on a dog that was thrown outside and had no bedding whatsoever to sleep on just a plastic bread basket.and it was kept outside in a run with no protection from the elements and that was at a top breeders quarantine kennel. i know of a local boarding kennel owner near where i live and in the busy summer season he would put one dog in a kennel and one in the run outside. so the poor dog in the run was going to get wet if it rained for the week or two while he was there.i also know that he told the owners that if their dog wouldnt eat they would give them lots of different choices to make sure they did.but in private he told me that they put down a bowl of complete diet and if the dog didnt eat it,tough!luckily for the dogs in his care hes dead now but i wonder how many others just cant be bothered to make sure the animals in their care are properly looked after.if her insurance refused to pay out it makes me wonder if shed have paid out of her personal money?me,id be visiting my brief and suing her not just for the injuries and loss of condition id be claiming for negligence, distress etc and going to the local authority and getting her closed down.THERES NO EXCUSE FOR WHATS GONE ON HERE. complete negligence. poor william, hope the poor lads on the road to recovery, :( that woman ought to be ashamed of herself
