Using Code Buttons?

When ever i try to use the code buttons ie colour,size, bold ect

it came up with or but i dont see any thing like what its surpposed to when i post the item.

 

what im i doing wrong?.

You need to highlight your text first Sharron them while it's highlighted press all the things you want eg colour size ect
