Hi people,

Could somebody recommend a good greyhound vet in the Manchester area. My dog is limping and my local vets cant seem to find out what is wrong.

Many thanks

Kevin Reeves at Warrington pretty good. I haven't seen him for years, but lots of others do. Practice is Rees and Reeves, 01925 232221 - great for greyhounds and whippets

'Officially' he is retired but will see racing dogs to his discretion. He no longer has clinics at Rees & Reeves and sees dogs by appointment in Lymm.

There is a good greyhound vet at Westhoughton Greyhound track who should be there during trials tomorrow morning. He got a lot of slack initially as he was a newcomer to the Uk but I'm hearing good comments of him now he's settled at the track. He ( Johan) can be contacted on 07962530227.

Paul Evans is another highly reputable vet

Paul Evans 07831 171262. Although from experience he's much better at surgery than finding injuries so i suppose it depends on what the problem is. Kevin Reeves is very good but is hard to get hold of if you want someone asap.

Thank you very muchi will call them both 2moro

Give the p.d.s.a a go,from past experience i found them ok.When i was there with my sons rottie there was a few greyhounds there. They wont stop till they find the problem.I would rather go there than the vets in Bolton. Its worth a try and you just leave a donation,it is better to try there than some vets who will fob you off for your money, good luck any way.

I live in Lancaster but use Regans vets on Bury Road Bolton Keith Taylor is an excellent vet and has owned many greyhounds himself sad thing is he is only part time for the Regan practise---- there not much he does not know about greyhound injuries and what treatment the require ==

you are right about keith he is great but try getting an oppointment with him.I dont know for sure but he was working in Leigh. But Regans has changed so much over the years.I used to use them all the time, but times change as every thing else.I had been with them for 22 years, and i have watched the changes, but as i said its like that all over now.But lets hope the wee chappy gets sorted out.
