Has anyone ever had a vet abuse their position of trust and hold their dog hostage ?

I am taking a vet to court for doing this to me and my dog after a roadaccident .

He charged me £1100 whilst holding him against my wishes

.He was a right bully .

They made a really serious mistake and told me to euthanize my dog by mistake on day two of being there and I wanted out of there after that but he just ignored me totally and carried on with treatment and locked me out of the hospital and made strict appointment times for me to visit my dog through my sister who he was using to negotiate his terms through

He threatened me very aggressively and said that I was trespassing and that he'd call the police if I didn't get out.......

He put me through hell for three days

Oh my god that's horrendous!

You poor thing, and your poor dog!

I have never experienced anything like that with my dogs. I have been very fortunate that the 2 vets we have had have been excellent.

Do you think you will win the case?

I hope that vet isn't still practicing!!!

oh he's a big name with about 15 practices in the northeast and the power has definitely gone to his head He told the royal college of vets that I am a liar .......

and im mentally ill! He Got his staff to lie too

And told the reg body that my sister was my advocate and spoke my wishes for me!!!

And so far he's got away with it ...

.He would not apologize to me for their mistake

I'm hoping to get some money back at least court is on 30th April....

What made it even worse was when I got shouted at to get out the vet hospital which really shook me up........my neighbour found an article about the same vet in the online mail where that same vet made the owners put their dog to sleep because he wouldn't let them take the dog somewhere else that they could afford to get a cesarean section and the puppies were euthanized aswell

......And he had a 4000 pounds advanced payment from

me ....I was terrified

OMG this is awful..i have to say i would have liked to have seen him try and keep my dog!!!..i would have raised hell..also be very careful about giving details before your court case hun...it may go against you :( xxx... That said, this is a wonderful friendly forum full of animal lovers and im sure everyone will do their best to support you though this xx

The truth will always out.

I'm only taking him to court for a customer service issue .

the rcvs have a rule where you have to secure a vet to vet transfer if your dogs injured and he delayed moving him for an extra day after I applied this rcvs rule.

I was deceived..

I humbly asked if i could arrange an ambulance service morning of day three which would have cost me £20 and he told me they would be doing it for free .But! THE MOST INCREDIBLE PART.......he was being transferred to the PDSA!!!!!!... who provide... FREE TREATMENT!!!!!

Oh my goodness this is horrible! Some people are so nasty, there's no need for that!

I can't offer advice but good luck with everything x

Thanks a lot ......

it's horrible going through this whole court process just to get some sort of justice here ....im having difficulty sleeping as it is constantly it on my mind .........

but I have to for the sake of the little solo ladies who get bullied by big men out there ....

hit em where it hurts obviously the pounds are more important to this one than kindness compassion and abiding by consumer laws ...

Got to be honest not all vets are bad ones, my practice is mainly women and t.b.h. I wasnt sure but i was wrong, they have been.great in every visit, as for your vet well i think i would have been arrested... I hope you get a good ending .

I've got a good one now .I stayed with the surgery that ended up fixing him .They are not money oriented and the surgeon was young and sympathetic .I was so upset he gave me a hug.

I can't get over the way I was treated and I think sometimes what would have happened if I didn't have a sister ..what would the man have done then ?

He never informed me of my rights!

I spent all day after he shouted at me to get out trying to find help on how to get your dog back off a vet ....

I do hope I win this case just to knock him off his high horse .

I'm charging this vet for applying unlawful charges whilst supposedly doing a vet to vet transfer to the pdsa if I loose the world makes no sense !

if vets can take your money upfront and decide how much they think they can take then the vet world need some regulations I think the taking close to 1000 pounds off someone when they have no control or say in the matter is crazy abuse of position of trust .All you good people wish me luck .

the first day at this vet cost 900 for the scan plus consultation fee

second day 110.00

third day for moving him 895.00 this included

£460.s for consultation fees ...I wasn't even there .....I was waiting for them to phone me and tell me they were on their way

something not quite right here I think he justified charging consultation fees for slagging me off to the pdsa he told them I was mental too and that the dog should be euthanized well he's not euthanize d he's alive and kicking so it just proves he was lying
