Hi had a visit from my sisters youngest shepherd today Foxy she played really well with Widget but Maddie was not amused but gradually it dawned on her that the shepherd was not going to hurt her and she even nearly played with it. Maybe a few more visits will work the magic so keep your fingers crossed for me. Here is a selection of photos from todays visit.

I m sure she will get used to her/him :luck:

Thanks Jax i was beginning to think that and have been taking it really slow with her but i thinkl she was even short on human company as well judging by the way she reacts to people as she is very scared of men especially. She has got a favourite at the moment though and it is the cockatiel as she keeps going up and letting him kiss her through the bars but not too happy with the african grey yet. A few more visits from that young female shepherd Foxy and hopefully we will have her playing again. Henry.

Just like me ;) I think Byron was away working , more than at home too . which wouldnt have helped . When she was here she the most confident little whippy ever , nothing bothered :p

I dont think any of mine would play with another breed , They has no chance of meeting other breeds to interact with , apart from at shows and ringcratf.

Where I walk my dogs I very rarly see other dogs and wouldnt want them to play with them if I did ( baring in mind what has happened in the past ( see other thread s ) )

Jackie

Yes Maddie is the fawn whippet Widget is the blue and white pup and yes i also think she is very beautiful so thanks must go to Jackie for breeding her.

When ours was young he had 2 GSDs he used to walk and play with quite a lot, one of whom was a puppy the same age who became quite aggressive when it was about a year old (the owner had anger management problems of her own too :- " ). Suddenly our dog decided that he couldn't abide this one or any other, and now howls when he sees one and won't go near them. I don't know what, if anything, happened between them though

Your dogs look lovely! I have 5 whippets. Staying at the moment we also have a Labradoodle pup and a spaniel all in the house!! OH loves the spaniel TG! It don't take long with patience to get them all ok with each other. I really just need to re-enforce that I am leader of this pack then we can all run about and have fun together!!!!
