When I was kid in the early seventies my Mum worked at both Romford and Walthamstow on the Tote, this weekend will see the end of Walthamstow Stadium, it, as many will know been sold. When I told my Mum (who know resides in Oz) she was gutted, and her first reaction was 'what will happen to the dogs'? I said 'I dunno' I have a decent idea, which is kinda sad...

Yep, since I've been a kid I had some great nights going to the track with my Mum to start with, through to seeing the whippet's charity racing...sadly it looks like another great institution is coming to it's end, slowly and painfully...

A sad day on Saturday...

sad day yes i think there will be more closing in near future a lot of the midlands tracks are emptry. Perry bar as got two bookmakers Hall green three bookmakers Coventry like a ghosttown nobody betting on tracks. FROM EXTRAINER FOR 10 YEARS spent a small forture in my time .I think it credit crunch is affecting greyhound racing like a lot of thinks today. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

One of my proudest moments as a greyhound trainer was when our Crackator Sue won the Racing Post Maxi Marathon over 1045mts by 6.5lths. A VERY SAD END. :rant: Les.
