I am looking for another whippet. I already have one small dog "Jack"-one and a half years old - and I am now looking for another puppy as a companion. I would like a bitch this time - but quite a large one - preferably fawn or light grey, with dark around the eyes. She must have a very calm temperament!!!! Please get in touch as soon as possible.

Hello and welcome  Perhaps it would help if you say which area you are in and far you are willing to travel. Also you must be prepared for breeders to ask you alot of questions

Good luck in your search :luck: :luck:

best of luck finding a very calm whippet puppy!

I agree with the others

I too would be worried if a whippet puppy was calm they are meant to be lively/ naughty/ boisterous ect it means they are happy & confident, fit and healthy

Only time mine are calm is when they are sleeping

Also it's hard to judge whether a puppy will be large because even if the parents are there's no guarentee the puppy will be

Good luck in your search :luck:

I always think that whippets have two modes. ON or OFF. When they're ON they are all go but the rest of the time they can be very lazy creatures. A puppy will certainly give you the runaround (w00t)

Hi and welcome to K9 :)

Have you any pictures of Jack? - you'll find we do like our pictures here

Good luck finding the right puppy :luck: As Dawn (Daledogs) said earlier, if you let us know whereabouts you are etc it will be easier to point you in the right direction.

I think puppies do vary in temperament - Jinny was a calmer puppy than Ella, but my little Jin still had her "mad five" moments and enjoyed using her puppy teeth and claws on my husband each evening at play time  However, she slept more than Ella so that made up for the manic bits

Thanks for the advice. I live near Oxford and am prepared to travel to any county around there. Travellling far north would be difficult. I have one pedigree Whippet already. I hope to find a puppy before the end of the summer, so that I can housetrain her before the cold weather sets in. ( getting up in the night etc)I am looking for a puppy that will become a fairly large adult. My dog Jack is quite small, and I would like the second one to be larger and have a "laid back" temperament. I am a retired teacher, so I am at home all the time.Kind regards Joy

When I said calm, I meant as a adult. I have met adult whippets with quite different temeraments. There are two near me who live in the same household - one is very calm and laid back, he's about fouror five, and the other one, who is three, is quite excitable and loves to play a lot more. So they are both adults. Here are some photos of Jack. I have loads.

There is no way of knowing if the cute mad puppy you buy will end up a cute mad adult or a laid back adult tbh

I think if you are after a larger whippet then a show bred one would be better (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong) but from what ive seen they tend to be on the larger size.

You could try Stella Muir on 01892 527341. She has a litter of 3 grey (brindle?) bitches that are about 10 days old and doing well. She is in Tunbridge Wells.

Mention Tim put you in touch if you call!
