I think its parkstone taboo not got any idea who the sire is anyway whats wrong with racing bred they will work if handled correctly

I'm never sure about racing breds being good for working. Don't shout at me folks.

But racing breds are bred for speed and I worry about injuries. My coursing breds are defo steadier.

Thank's :) I know racing breds work well when handled the right way (my lot work btw :D ) ..........Just this person was particular ......... :b

Actually what are working bred whippets? What's the definition? What makes a good one?

I'm not sure :b .....I always thought a coursing (for stamina) crossed with a racer (for speed) would be my idea of perfection ........

I'm not sure about working breeding because I have never done it, but I think coursing breeding is a combination I see it with Spry, although she seems to be very fast she can turn her body on a pin if something is in her sight and seems very nimble.

My 2 show bred whippets are just as eager for anything that moves, my two have lots of stamina and are also good at controling their speed to chase the lure, although with racing they lack the speed for the short distance, I do think over a long distance they would hold their own against a racer because they need to build their speed where as a racer takes off at speed

Speed alone is of no value for anything other than racing if they cant control it IMO

Its difficult this one ......If you look at the uphill sprint, the racers pull futher away from the show lot the further they run ........I think alot depends on size as IMHO the smaller the dog, normally the nimbler it is .........I also think if you free run your dogs from puppyhood, they learn to control their bodies more ......but again this is just my own opinion for what its worth :) ........My old show bred is still eager now, but she's still slow even over a good Hare course, my racers leave her for dead :( ........I must say I prefer my racing breds for working, but each to their own .....

Anyway if anyone knows of a bigger racing/working line I'd appreciate it

horses for coures i think :- "

When I think of working, I look at coursing bred. The stamina is unrivalled. If you want a short distance worker, a cross with a racer would be phenomenal I would imagine. Hope you are lucky finding the right whippet

Anyone ?? .....My litter is going to be too small for this couple ..........They are still looking for a racing/coursing bred pup, that'll reach at least 25lbs (ish) .......Cheers in advance
