whippet or lurcher bitch between 1yr and 6yrs wanted for loving pet home in cheshire distance no object . will share home with 3 other rescue whippets

Do you specifically want a racing bred whippet? If not why post this on gen discussion whippet. I'd have thought that you are much more likely find a bitch on that forum than this because it covers all whippets.

I would have thought that not many racing bred bitches will be looking for a new home if any.

they are not looking specifically for a racing bred whippet , ive posted it on here because unfortunately some do get passed on if they dont make the grade or theyve ha to retire for some reason

And you think that this is more likely to happen from a racing home than a show home?

umm I take it you don't know many racers then if you've got this opinion, Most (99.99%) would never think of passing a dog on because it's not a flying machine or because it's past it's best.

it sounds like your confusing whippet & greyhound racing.

far more dogs are liable to be past on from Show or pet (hastily bought mistakes) than will ever be passed on from Proper Whippet racing homes. (I say proper as you do get the od flybynights who get into racing for 5 minutes then sell up and move onto something else)

Hope my post doesn't cause offence BUT it's based on facts not hear say.

I'm sorry but I just can't let that remark pass.

I have to agree with Mark (again!), I am afraid you are sadly misinformed Weathergirl. Pedigree whippet racing is a small world. Everyone pretty much knows about everyone else so we can catagorically tell you that a far smaller percentage of them get passed on than do show or purely pet ones and that the very few that do are nearly all passed on for a reason that has nothing whatsoever to do with racing. The reason we tend to have as many dogs as we do is because we keep them when they finish racing. Most of us have more dogs that don't race for some reason than those that do. I think, as Mark say that you, or your informants, must indeed be mixing it up with greyhound racing.

dont you just love it when people mix our sport with something else

didnt intend to offend anyone my comments were not aimed at peddi racing owners

. I was answering a question from Beejay as to why I,d posted on this site , why not ? Ive posted it on our non-. I have no idea what goes on on the showing side my involvement is with racing and whilst Ilike many others keep all my dogs until they pass away not every one does

theres 6 greyhounds /lurchers in halewood rspca dogs home near speke.its not far from cheshire
