i took my two girls out yesterday morning and bo ran through a fence and somehow managed to do this to herself. :( now she wont be going anywhere for a while. just wondered if this happens a lot to whippets with them being so thin skinned. At least the vets did a good job on her. Shes wondering round the garden now, still as curious as ever.

Short answer, yes. They tear like paper. Poor Bo, hope she's soon on the mend :)

I had one who was always getting torn , one who never got torn and one who occasionally got torn . So I think they are all different , depends how much charging into things they do :b

Poor Bo....looks like she`s getting plenty of TLC.

Just the same here Hula, one gets torn all the time, the other never gets a scratch but they both go arse over tit just as much.

poor thing, she looks really sad - hope it mends really quickly :luck:

Oh poor thing, not nice...hope it heals quickly and cleanly

my lot are allays doing stuff like that I like it in the wionter when at least the have a coat on to give them a bit of protetion but summer time mine live at the vets it seams hops hes soon better

poor Bo, looks awful, hope she's soon chirpier.

Only last night Ella came back from a good outing where there's a field with 5 ft tall grass, doing kangaroo jumps in it, she must've run into a sharp stick she's cut a 1 cm hole in the skin at the front of her throat, luckily not pierced the muscle, theire's a scratch on her thick collar where it must've deflected off so I think she's been lucky.

She looks like she's had a tracheostomy, poor girl.

Poor Bo hope she is better soon :huggles:

poor little love hope she on the mend soon ,sending lots of gentle hugs and kisses :* :* :luck:

My dog Peat had skin like paper, he always had a nick or tear somewhere. :)

Hope she feels better soon

Poor Bo, hope she heals soon. Yes Molly tears quite easily too, she ran into some barbed wire a while back whilst I was out walking her. If I remember rightly she was just chasing a plastic bag at the time :b

Poor little girl :(

Hope the wound heals quickly and she is soon feeling a bit brighter :huggles:
