Seeing that the results of the 2nd Champs have just recently been posted, when can we envisage the results of the 3rd ones being posted ! :D I won`t mention the BESAP`S again, but I must admit it has generated a `meaty` and interesting discussion.

Peter Scott, have you any oustanding memories/performances from the `70`s ?

You know what would be nice, would it be possible to list the results of the Championships since they started. Come to think of it, does anyone know when they did start and who were the first Racing Champions. I can remember SAILOR and JAKE being quite old when I started in 1974.

The first championship meeting was held in 1970 at Bracknell.

The first Champions were Charm, Jake and Our Pepe, all made up at the 2nd Championships of 1971.

MY best memory, regarding my own dogs performace was at, the Guiness 1982

Derby at Newmarket, My dog arctic Scott weighed in at 20 lbs, the distance was 175 yds straight. In the 1st heat my dog won by about 5 yds from Sams, Mirage, a rerun was decided as interferance had occured, it only happend just before the line between the remaining dogs, I asked to be omited from the rerun as I had clearly won by yds, this was turned down so all the dogs were put back in. The result was the same only the second spot changed which meant sams Mirage went out. In his X heat a second rerun resulted, at this point I was ready to pull out, but Dave Langly the owner of sams Mirage talked me into running him. Once again he won by yds, the Semi Finals gave another clear win, In the main open final he raced against Binfield rocket 26lbs who had only run 3 times prior to the final. When arctic Scott crossed the line he was still at least six yards clear on his 6th run of the day. I only had six months racing out of this fantastic little dog before injury ended his racing and his life, but what a six months, Two supreme opens on the straights, two fed titles on bends, numerus open finals, lead top ten, superstar dog. This is a pic when he won Tamworth open.

Great memory Peter. Your just as I remember you. Do you still have the same hair style ! :D

Thanks for that Judy. I seem to recall OUR PEPE being the only Pedigree dog ever to win a BWRA Championship title as well ?

Our Pepe, did win a BWRA title, he was also the sire of Flying Scott, Ebony Cheeta

also won a BWRA bend title but was baned from breeding ?. And by the way Martin my hair is going white and its also going. LoL.
