After a busy weekend of babysitting my granddaughter and having a gender reveal for my stepdaughter (it’s a boy) I hired a field for my 2 dogs and my mums spaniel as I knew mine would need to blow off steam.
We had a blast! I am lucky that mine have good recall and generally well behaved (or at I think they are lol) but it was so nice to be able to let them run around and know they can’t escape anywhere and no other owners would be around.
It’s a lovely field with a little woodland in Lenham,Maidstone. It also had a few little jumps and a bench so me and my mum were able to sit down and catch up and let the dogs explore without wondering where they had gone.
I have tried to add some photos but it won’t let me..they are all now fast asleep.

Try posting photos again once you've made a couple more posts - if it still doesn't work, give me a shout (and let me know what error message you get).

Enclosed dog fields are such a good idea - there's a few round where I am now.

Sounds like a perfect doggy day, always nice when its somewhere like that where the humans can relax too and not have to worry about any outside intrusion, or opportunities for our own dogs to get into mischief haha

It's a wonderful idea. I don't know if it's a thing in the US ti be able to do that, because the only dog forums I've ever followed are in the UK lol. I do know of a 'dog walker' who has a short bus, picks the dogs up and takes them to an enclosed park that appears quite large, every day. I follow them on FB. It's called K9 Konvoy., they are in Wisconsin. And I'm starting to get posts in my feed for another one too, so it's catching on as a new type of doggie day care I think.

I love secure fields!
So nice not being hassled by other people and their dogs :)

Sounds like a great idea. I'm not aware of that availability here in the U.S., but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

That's a great idea. My dogs have reasonable recall. we have a lot of parks and fields here but other off lead dogs are a nuisance.

They are great and between the 2 of us it was only £5 for an hour! Always good to find new sniffs and Albie had a good run which he hasn’t done for a while.

They're called 'Sniff Spots' & you can search for one by location and/or amenities offered.
That's terrific. I just checked it out and actually found one in my town, 35 acres. Amazing. I don't have dogs, but I wonder how many people actually know about this site?

Edit after exploring the site a bit more I've found three other spots, not right in my town but within 30 minutes or less driving. So cool!

A field with a woodland in sounds fab! I'm really jealous of that part. There's a lot of dog fields around here, but not any fenced woodland. Well, there's technically one near Bishop Auckland, but it's a tiny ex-coppice copse with some additional saplings, and because of the size vs usage vs age, there's no under-story at all and it's just bare earth with small trees in.

Thanks!

I'm in the US (Northwest North Carolina, to be more exact) and I do think they're a good idea, especially for people who have reactive or more dog-selective dogs. Of course, I'm sure there are ones that are better kept up than others, just like any other dog-park type place I suppose. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural location, so my dogs have 4 - 5 acres of fenced woods to play in all to themselves.

New ones are popping up all the time so worth keeping an eye out. I think someone posted the link earlier on where is a good place to look.
We have also started hiring a pool to go swimming which is also great fun for us , including OH although he won’t admit it lol

Might be worth investigating so you can enjoy a walk and not have to worry about dogs being out of control?

I think I would have to worry MORE. These are private properties where people pay to let their dogs run free. :)

They maybe different in the USA but here you hire them for sole usage so no one else is allowed to enter until your time is up.
