Weird growth!

I was wondering if anyone knows what this is? I noticed it yesterday it looks scabby and it doesn't seem to bother my dog or cause any discomfort when i touch it or go near the area. I made him an appointment with the vet but im really worried and was hoping i could get some insight on here.

Have a read-up on cutaneous horn in dogs - it's difficult to tell from the photo, but it does look similar.

I thought of that too but the pink area looks like raw flesh. @DanniDanni can you confirm, or post more photos?
