281 entries is an awful lot for 1 judge even of Shirley's capabilities. That will be over 8 hours of judging not including breaks, of any sort.

What do others think

well next year there should be 2 judges it is far to much for any judge and it used to be 200 now its 250 but its a bit unfair to put another judge in now

personally i think its far too many - feet and legs must be hurting even half way through that lot. (w00t) I thinks its too much time pressure, the judge knows they have to get on with it for the Group. Why not make it more pleasant all round and have a bitch and dog judge every time. We know that whippet entries are always large and more often than not going over the 200. It also usually means dogs starting incredibly early (9.00?) and bitches running so late. When so many people have to travel so far early start times compound the length of the day.

Is there a problem getting 2 judges all the time, r there enough qualified to do this, I would have thought so but may be this is a problem.

I don't have to rush to leave today as Holly is not in until open bitch. With the entries Open will not be judged until much later on today. Probably leave around 10:30 to get to Malvern at 12:00.
