I think Razzle did great for her first time :) Should of got some shots of Dobs doing his diving! :teehee:

We went to Teazledown Swimsafe Link

Dobs has been going for the past month now. I've been really pleased with the staff who've been absolutely brilliant. We went to another pool about a year ago and Dobs sort of had his confidence knocked by the whole experience, however Ann & Graham have been really patient and encouraging with him. He's been spoilt rotten every visit and my lad really loves the whole experience.

i will not mention the words "drowned " and "rat" :- " :- "

she looks like she had a really good time , she is one spoiled girl    she fell on her feet ( paws ) when she came to you :huggles:

i wish id have taken some pics of dobs doing his flying leap into the water! cant believe how he launches himself off those steps like the QE2! (w00t)

Wow, that looks like fun. I'd like to take Hebe & teach her how to swim, she's not confident in water deeper than her tummy :(

I've filled in the contact thingy on their website but I don't think it's worked as it said page not available.

Kris or Jac, have you a contact number for them please?

Ta, Julie.

Ozzy has been swimming - but they put a little life jacket on him and off he went (w00t) but his favourite is the water treadmill, he loves it!

here you go Julie.they have little flotation jackets so Ann will probably start her off on that to give her confidence.she didnt bother with Razz cos i told her she goes swimming all the time in the lake and the streams at the rear of our house

its Ann johnson BA,Dip.ICAT tel;01772 335930 theres a map showing how to get there on the site ;)

its excellent treatment for old dogs with arthritis too :)

It looks like a great facility. Swimming is such a great exercise for the k9 kids. I remember the first time my greyhound leaped into a rather deep pond in pursuit of her borzoi friend and she was over her depth  she learnt instantly how to do dog paddle.

been going here over the past 20 years , been taking Tillie here for the past couple of years now she loves it its excellent Tillie Anne and her staff are very helpful and gives the dogs loads of confidence and very reasonably priced as well

well they say youre never too old to learn and i learned something new when i went that i never knew about dogs.THEY CANT TREAD WATER they just go under  when we got to the end of the pool i stood there holding the lead and shouting encouragement to razzle and i wasnt listening to Ann who was saying keep going, turn, turn.i waited till razzle got to the end of the pool and then i started to turn but razz was rapidly disappearing(under the water!) (w00t) i didnt realise they cant tread water so they have to constantly swim or they go under!anyway luckily Ann had her wits about her and she pulled razzle up and so all she got was a bit of water in her face but it scared me!didnt bother the little terrorist though

Kris, that looks amazing!!! are you telling me that theres special pools for dogs?????

i can't believe it!!!

:))

yep!all mod cons over here in the U.K. now! :D were going again tomorrow morning!razzle will get her bronze medal yet!

Thanks Kris, I'll give them a ring tomorrow & get Hebe booked in for a swimming lesson. Today we went for a walk along the river & we were throwing twigs in for the dogs but not one of 4 dogs would go & fetch them back :( . Hebe just stands on the edge, barking at the twig in the hope that it'll come back to her

Anything deeper than tummy level is too deep for her.
