:huggles: Thankyou everyone for such a lovely welcome to K9! Since I joined Coco has come into her first season. She seems quite happy but just wants to spend her time chilling out. I usually take her for a walk across the front at bude and then onto the beach before she comes to work with me for the day. She loves that particular walk because she gets to meet and play with loads of dogs, which is coco's idea of heaven (apart from getting under the duvet!), so yesterday she was a bit down because she didn't get to go!! :( How long does a season usually last as previous dogs we've always had spaded and when can she go out and get back to playing?? Any experience in this matter would be really helpful :) Thanks again for the replies and lloking forward to meeting some of you at some point!! Love and hugs Tracey :huggles:

Ahhhh, little Coco is growing up

She will be in season, and interesting to dogs, for around 3 weeks from the day you first see blood spotting.

You will have to be very careful with her from around day 8 to 14 as that is when she will be most fertile and looking for a husband (w00t)

I always think day 10/11 is the first critical day - so watch out for it!! She'll be lifting her tail for you

Maybe you could take her somewhere where there are no other dogs around and keep her on a lead for her walks?

I'm still waiting for my 2 whippies to come into their first seasons. I thought Jinny had come in a while back but it was one of my GSDs who came in early

Good luck over the next 3 weeks, Tracey :luck: :luck:

Thanks very much for the info. she gets her daily walks around the fields and woods where we live but she does love her beach runs as there are normally loads of dogs around  Oh well she'll just have to do with out them for a couple weeks :( I'm sure she won't really mind if it means extra snooze club time -_- thanks again! :D
