i'm changing my 2 two over to meat but whats the best meat to put them on? People tell me to put them on this and that then other people say don't put them on that so could you help to tell me whats the right meat. Thanks Jess x

I feed my lurchers and whippets on raw chicken wings, raw rabbit (bone in) and pet mince made up by my butcher from all the offcuts of everything!

I add some green tripe on occasion and they also get cod liver oil and seaweed powder every day.

Sometimes I give them sardines in spring water (Sainbury's only) and a raw egg mixed in every so often.

It's not a bad idea to give them some mashed veg too ........ unless they have daily access to grass and natural greenery as they would in the wild :thumbsup:

okay thanks cause i got told to feed my new dog poppy on this in the morning corn flakes egg and milk then at night give her half a small loaf of beard with mince and cooked veg that was from a greyhound trainer called terry? x iv been told that a load of rubbish there's nothing good in it i think the only think good in it is the meat lol ha x

I would totally agree with Jane, that is what mine get as well, but also a small amount of garlic everyday and chudleys working mix complete dry food (24% protine).

Be careful with just meat tho as it can be too rich for them and they need some of the other stuff like maize, oats and all (balanced diet) :thumbsup: .

Mine also get raw liver once a week (every wednesday!), this is great for Iron and their blood cells which is their natural defence mechanisium.

I dont know what sort of greyhound trainer she is but a load of rubbish is exactlly right - god my grandad would turn in his grave if we fed our greyhounds on that! :teehee:

agree with both jane and helen . i feed all mine on meat as i have access to a slaughter house but i also give a mixer and make a stew once a week . ill be picking up whole tripes and ox tails and tounges thursday . cost hardly anything . :thumbsup:

Forgot to say that mine get raw rib or marrow bones a couple of times a week too - keeps their teeth white and healthy :thumbsup:

(w00t) (w00t) (w00t) Dogs don't eat wheat or corn or cereal as part of their natural diet - their digestive systems don't cope with it at all well and the sort of diet that you were told to give would probably wreck any greyhound's chance of winning, or even running well, in a race!!!
