Back in March, my dog had a wound which we were given some kind of wipes and cream from the vet to help it heal nicely.
It did heal, and eventually scabbed over. This scab never disappeared, instead turning into a weird horn looking thing. We’ve now found another lump on the base of his tail that I’m worried is going to turn into the same kind of thing!
He’s been to see the vet this morning and the vet wants to remove the new lump & horn and send them for biopsy.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, or had something like this checked out with their vet? What did it end up being? Do you think it’s anything sinister, should I be worried?!

The horn thing is something I've seen, it looks like a cutaneous horn.

It's probably best just to follow the vet's plan. Please do let us know how it goes.

My Google searches also suggested cutaneous horn - which seem to be nothing to worry about but worth getting checked out just in case.

Will update when we find out what the other lump is.
