Seriously . Every year we hear about the idiots who leave their dogs in cars during heat waves but this really is an act of selfishness. This female tourist now faces prosecution under German animal cruelty laws and she could lose her dog as well because they will take her dog from her if she is found guilty.

To be honest if she is this selfish she deserves to be prosecuted and never to have a dog again.

There is nothing I can add, other than it just makes me profoundly sad that so many (not all thankfully) peoples awareness and care in general seems to be going backwards...especially when it comes to animals...

Violations of the Animal Protection Act can result in fines up to €25,000 or imprisonment up to three years.

Theres a rules about walking your dog too. Dogs are entitled to two walks a day.

I just read through that, I wish our dog (and all pets tbh)owner ship/responsibility laws would be tightened and staffed adequately to be enforced here.
I also wish we would follow the Netherlands with their laws on banning breeding and owning brachycephalic breeds...
