Our Longahired Whippets have finally been excepted to run with a club here in Canada, YEAH!!!!!!

My question is what kind of muzzle is best for whippet racing? I am familiar with Greyhound "turnout" muzzles but they are too big for whippys. I have been looking around and have seen two styles for whippets, plastic basket muzzles (very similar to greyhound type), and a very thin wire kind. Which do people prefer and why? I would be inclined to go with the basket type as the wire style seem like there's nothing there at all. But any advice from experienced racers would be appreicated.

Wire, plastic coated ones are the best

Depends if your dog has a houdini mouth............

Coral needs a wire coated + extra plastic tape wrapped around...........

Otherwise you have 10 minutes trying to get the lure out of his teeth.........little sh-t.

I now carry a pair of scissors in my pocket as back-up
