I'm getting my puppy very soon. I know what I'm going to call her. I'm going to register her at the local vets. Do I register her online or on the phone? The reason I'm asking is that I want to make sure all of the personal details are spelt correctly.

With everything that is happening at the moment, am I going to be able to get her first vaccination soon after I get her?

Thanks.

Why not give your vet a call - they will know how busy they are and therefore how much notice they will need to book her vaccinations.

I wouldn't fret about spelling etc - mistakes are easily corrected.

Good idea.

However, when it comes to spelling mistakes, I want everything to be right so it kind of is an issue for me.

When you register at the vets, do you get a card or something similar with your name, your dog's name, your dog's breed, etc, on it?

I mean this kindly but - suppose they spell her name wrong when you call. You arrive, see that and tell them, so they change it, they give you a vaccination card (that's what you will get) with the correct details. Their IT records were wrong for a couple of weeks and you didn't even see them. Please try not to stress over it.

You could write to the vet practice and then they can see the spelling you want.

However it really doesn't make any difference to the treatments your dog will have.

You can register as soon as you want. I only ever give my dog's 'pet' name and not their full KC name for their vaccination card.

I tried to register with my vet, but Ash had had her first vaccination and when I sent a picture to our vet they said they couldn’t get that one and therefore I would have to start her vaccinations again I think not!!!!

I contacted the breeders vet and arranged for the second vaccination to be done by them (luckily they were only just over an hour away)

my vet says that as she wasn’t vaccinated by them they they will not send a reminder for her 1 year vaccination

I have a vaccination card with the breeders details on and Ash’s name

I would contact your vet now

wishing you all the best with your new addition when they arrive

I think at the moment with Covid you would have to register by phone. You could always email or write to them to confirm the details after. You don't get a card or anything unless its the vaccination card. All records are on the computer.
