Ok I'll jump in to get flamed as nobody else has replied! :b

Personally, I let my pups stretch their legs at about five and a half months. From six months they can run behind the lure for maybe 30-50 yds, then build it up from there, Samael is nearly 8 months and ran 140 yds (once) on Sunday!

I'm sure people have differing views, await to hear them!

Scott.

I prefere mine to be around 8 months old before they chase a drag lure, some pups are ready earlyer some later but its the pup that should dictate when a pup starts chasing the drag lure not the owners eagerness for them to run.

ours play in the garden with onione sacks, rags ect and have a chase of a rag tied to the end of a sea fishing rod pulled round the garden but nothing that would over stretch them till the reach about 8 months.

Thanks for the advice

My little Fynn is 4 1/2 months. He is playing with the lure and chasing around over very short distances now. He regularly comes racing, and is getting used to the sound of the traps and the atmosphere. When he is 6 months old, he will be able to chase a mechanical lure, but again, you start over a short distance and gradually increase it. I am not sure where your nearest club is.
