Hi,

I am in Berkshire (Bracknell) and wonder if anyone can recommend ringcraft classes in this area.

I have never been involved in breed showing, and only ever competed in obedience. Since owning a whippet and being on this forum, I am really interested to have a go at showing, and my partner is desperate to go around the ring lol

Ollie was bought as a pet, and as much as I love him to bits I really think that he will not fare that well in the showring and will be much better suited to coursing!

My new pup's pedigree seems quite good, and he has had a few admiring glances :))

I'm not sure how you write the pedigrees on this forum but I'll give it a go :b

Origo Just James

{Origo Dark Knight

{Gainsborough's Blue Bell

Moonvale Steel Magnolia

{CH Oakbark Major's Law at Stonefox

{Chilka Katy at Linsea

If anyone can shed any light on these dogs, or the websites of the breeders I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Tracy

Sorry, am nowhere near so can't help with ringcraft classes, but I'm sure someone will be able!

I would just take him along to a few classes and see how he gets along, There is a picture of Ch Oakbark Major 's Law at Stonefox on the champdogs website, the link is HERE!!!

Ringcraft classes are good for socialisation and teaching your pup to sit still, if nothing else!!! You can then enter him in some companion dog shows when he is 6 months and see how he and you enjoy it!

Good luck :D

Hi Jo,

I have seen these pics and they are lovely, I think his Grandsire was very handsome

There is a companion dog show just outside of Reading (about 15 miles from me) at the weekend so we are hoping to go along to that. Even thinking of letting Ollie have a go to see if he enjoys it

Thanks

Tracy

Ah so true!!!! You also learn a lot more from watching others at shows. I am a nuisance for asking loads of questions to people that are experienced in the breed.

I also get a lot of help by asking people to be critical of my handling and point out where i go wrong, to me thats the only way you can learn (w00t)

Don't worry Django.......Ollie will soon be bottom of the class for fidgetting

heloo there tracy.

I just stumbled across this thread and saw that you were looking to shed some light on the pedigree of your new pup, i realise this is an old thread now, but I'm quite excited to say that i am the owner of your pups grandsire, "Origo Just James"....

I also was looking to find some info on the breeder, but for a different reason, to give her a piece of my mind. The KC website gives a name but no address.. I bought my dog aged six from someone who was keeping him in a terrible condition, and letting certain medical problems go untreated.. He is a beautiful boy, i can post you a photo if you like.... i already snuck a look at yours, perhaps it would be nice to compare eh?

anyway hope this finds you and dogs well

yours hannah
