I have a 30" for my 18.5" bitch...but bigger if they are going to spend any amount of time in it, 36" is good if you don't need to carry it about yet and measure what'll fit in the car

Bluebell may have spent 2 minutes in her cage, I bought it for shows, but haven't used it!

Hi

Toddy is nearly 8 months he has a 36 inch crate. He is medium sized and will probably grow to about 15Kg / 18"

The crate size would depend on if you just wanted a crate for while the puppy is small or something that you could use after she is grown up. Certainly, 36" crate would be the largest you need but it mat be too big to fit in your car if you want something multi purpose.

You can get a good deal on crates on Ebay.

Regards

Eve

36" is about right for a dog... they look tiny in it when they are curled up, but if they want to lay flat on their side then they'll need the extra room. It's all those legs! We have a 36" for Django and a 30" for Neela. Since your pup will be quite small to begin with there will be a lot of extra room in the crate, but you can get crate dividers to section it off til he grows.
