Thanks Helen - The Biennial should be an inclusion in everyone's library of whippet books etc.

Couldnt agree more SUED :huggles:

The biennials are like bibles! I was so lucky to get to purchase the full set a couple of years ago, plus several of the year books which preceded the biennals.

Being relatively new to the breed, but being obsessed with whippet history and bloodlines, it's amazing to look back and put faces to names.

The earliest one I have is 1960 - that's 12 years before I was even born !!!!!

I love sorting my advert for them - it's almost like an honour to be in there!

Louise

could someone explain exactly what the biennel is please? Im thinking its basicaly a book of all recent winners ( i.e cc winners or CHs) and their pedigrees etc?

when does it come on sale and how can you purchase one?

Thanks

Its a A5 size book, it has a list of CC and Res CC and BP winners for the previous two years,

It is bascially a who's who's, but dont let that put you off, the majority of exhibitors do splash out on having a page or two. It is Very usefull when choosing a stud dog, or where to purchase a puppy. Also its lovely to see the newer exhibitors and owners advertsing their wins, or just a way of saying heres my whippet and i love them to bits

Its now in colour and last time i think that was around £60 per page, but you do get a free copy when its ready, usually CRUFTS

ive still got to get some decent pics not easy with my lot at mo :(

Nows the time to get some super pics of your dog , they dont HAVE to be in `pose` position , but if they are try to make sure that its a complimentary of of your dog , youd be amazed at some of the bad pics that go in the book , and as we know it goes ALL around the world (w00t)

Im going to treat myself this time and have 2 pages 8) , one will be of the 10 on the settee ;) dont think I will better that one some how and maybe one of India or Harvee or Libbee or Mayzee  who knows ??

For those who havnt seen the `10 `pic , youll just have to wait for the Biennial wont you

If any of you want a picture taken Im only too happy to help FOC of course , :huggles:  I usually have my camera

Hi there - I am very fortunate to have most of the Biennials and that is only due to my dear old friend Mr Phil Gibson of 'Parkette' fame in Australia. Phil who imported a whippet from Mrs C Simmonds from memory has given me all his copies and I will treasure them.

The first one is NUMBER ONE (covering activities in 1973 & 1974). To see whippets of those times there are some that would hold their own in the showring these days. Only a few but quality dogs.

When you pay for your 'page' in the bienniel, its up to you how you fill it, most put a showing picture or i have several casual pictures in too. !!!!
