Hi there

Just wondering if anyone know of a Whippet Club near to Edinburgh, Scotland.

I have heard that there is a meeting in Gorebridge on Wednesdays, but after searching the internet I can not find any information.

If anyone could help I would be very grateful.

Many thanks in advance

If it is show clubs you mean there is only the Whippet Club of Scotland as a club for whippets in Scotland. They are holding a show in Larkhall on 5 November and you can get a schedule from Mr W Armstrong on 01555 871208. I expect you have heard about the Eskbank training class (all breeds ) that meets near Gorebridge. I know several whippets go there, try contacting Margaret Elliot Ross at Gorebridge as I know she goes to it with her whippets and could give you details. Her phone number is 01875 821620.

If you are interested in racing whippet clubs there are two that meet on Sundays one at Ochtertyre Road near the Safari Park near Stirling, and one by the Kincardine Bridge. Details of them in the clubs section of K9.

Hi Liz

Thanks so much for the contacts - will give them both a call as we are looking to show him and a bit of training never goes a miss - would be good to meet other owners.

Thanks you so much again

Hi Jaq

Look forward to meeting you when you get to a show. As you say, the odd training class first never goes amiss, and you meet some people there, then you know someone when you go to a show. Also, the training class will have some local schedules for you to pick up.

Hi Liz

Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of Mr Armstrong - I spoke to him last night and gained a wealth of answers to my many questions. Putting my mind to rest on a number of issues. Hopefully we are going to make it to the meeting on the 5th November.

The K9 Community forum is such a good find and everyone is so helpful. Really important to newcommers like us!!
