While speaking to a friend yesterday, she told me that someone she knows works at RSPCA Oldham. They had a 12 week old whippet pup dumped on them. It's in terrible condition and absolutely terrified of every thing, even lunging at people out of fear.

This doesn't sound like any 12 week old pup I've come across and I also wonder if they would know for sure that it is a whippet.

Is anyone near enough to go and have a look?

Sorry I couldn't post this last night - my comp. kept telling me I was working off line (I'm on broadband) just got it sorted.

Please help if you can,

Jools

Im trying to get someone to look into it, sods law I'd be back at work and I can't take any leave this week. :(

If it is a whippet, it sounds like it's really messed up psychologically. :(

The poor poor little thing, whatever breed it is. I'm just too far away to be able to help this time, and I've kinda got my hands full with these two for the moment.

I hope someone can help out, or even just go see the little thing.

Not having much luck finding someone to look in. Jools do you know what time they're open till?

there is nothing i can do today but i might be able to go tomorrow morning if no one else can and get some info on the poor thing.

but i will get shot if i come home with it o:)

go on Becka you know you want to :- " (w00t) good luck :luck:

I just rang Oldham RSPCA and they said that they haven't got a whippet Pup.

Beckas got her hands full at the moment!! She's just willing to pop in and get the lowdown on it if no-one can check it out today. :- "

Thanks for your concern everyone - I'm trying to get hold of my friend to confirm things - but she was certain when she spoke to me yesterday.

I have no idea about opening hours, but will try and get more info.

It's making me ill thinking about this poor little soul stuck in a kennel when it should be in a home enviroment being cared for by people who understand the breed. I can't get over because my car is over heating. Sods Law again.

I have just spoke to them they only have cross breed pups in and non are whippety types

Thats what Andrew(*OH*) said in an earlier post no whippet pups at Oldham RSPCA, we would have gone and got it had it been there

Sorry for my late reply - my comp keeps telling me I'm working off line and then won't let me on -I'm on broadband!!. This is the first time I've managed to get on.

I contacted my friend, she confirmed that a whippet pup was at the RSPCA, Mumps, Oldham on Thursday, 16.06. I can only presume that it has been homed already. It's rather strange, I would have thought that they would have wanted to assess a 12 week old pup with such extreme behaviour.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but thanks everyone for all your efforts.
