I have a dog who will be 7 on the 23rd December, he has tried racing but alas it wasnt for him, but now my dilemma is i have a bitch in pup and a bitch in heat, he is going mental and it is affecting my pups racing and amongst other things the pup has started to run away i found him on the road twice this week. He is a loving gentle natured dog and needs to be in a pet home where he is the only dog and the centre of attention, anyone knowing of such a person who can provide a warm loving home send me a message and i will get back to you only genuine enquiries please

has he been fixed? if not, it might help your situation x

 forgive me i dont understand? who is howling all night? if its your dog he will stop if you have his bits off :b Bob does not even look at the girls in season since he was done

have you had him since a puppy?

It wouldn`t stop the howling all night and the neighbours complaining though

Shame you didnt think of this when you decided to keep bitches if the dog is now 7 years old!!!

How do you know if castration will not stop him howling if you haven't tried it??

I had a dog that was a nighmare & howled the place down when a bitch was in season. As soon as i had him done he was a different dog. Unless you try, you wont know.

I hope its somthing you could considre as i am sure you would realy miss him if he went

I don't want to sound judgemental but wouldn't it be a real shame to re-home your boy now at 7 years of age? What has happened the other times your girls have been in season? Surely its worth considering having him castrated rather than let him go without trying?

This time i had a bitch in season i kept my dog at home. He is pretty good anyway and only gets interested at the relevant time of the season. However, i found him much more relaxed and less stressed as he was allowed to see the bitch in question and not just have the smell on the other side of a door. Obviously very careful supervision required though!!

How about a friend or relative that he could go to stay with for a couple of weeks at season time?

So i guess what im trying to say is, there could well be other options.

please try it, for his sake. also worth going to your vet to see what they say, they might have another suggestion. at 7 it'll be harder for him to find a new home or if he found one, to adapt to it. it'll be overwhelming, confusing and upsetting for you both :(

ooo that is good news hun ,any pics off the little fella :D

pleased to hear a happy outcome , ive a iggie lad here who has recently jumped through a window to try to get my bitch and howls 24/7 , attacks my other ig boy too , but as he is shown im unable to castarte him , im looking into jabs that prevent the males from being fertile and reduces the level of male hormone making them nicer to live with :D

Dont want ot disa llusion you but castration dosnt always do the trick

I had Harvee castrated earlier this year , at present I have 2 girls in season and hes still whining, howling etc and trying to mate them just as he would had he been entire . I had a word with my vet who said `this can happen on the odd occasion .

Ive never heard of it before and im not too happy , cos the only reason I had him done was , as I have 6 girls , he would be so stressed , Montee is still entire but dosnt go `silly` like Harvee

But if you only have 2 girls it shouldn`t be long before its over . If hes howling at night , let him sleep in the bedroom with you
