At what age does a whippet stop growing? My boy is 6.5 months and already 20 inches.

Anyone want to have a go? Like some dont grow as big as others. So when does a whippet stop? (w00t)

My boy, Frankie, didn't grow any taller from 7 months. They are all different though. He looked leggy as a puppy but doesn't now as an adult.

Different lines grow at different rates - I would expect however that at 6.5mths of age, there would still be growth happening.

My lines tend to be baby babies, then spurt up at 6mths, then slower growing & by 12mths they are finished - it can be a hair raising time as often at 6mths I want to put bricks on em to slow em down (w00t) (w00t)

I'm thinking that your boy would most likely be still in the growing stages, but like I say, it is line dependant - but I would think there wouldn't be to many that have finished growing at 6.5mths

My Genevieve grew only 0.5cm after she was 6 months. When my Stella (the puppy i was worried will be huge) was only 45cm on her 6 months birthday, (w00t) I went into major panic mode. Well, she is almost 9 months and 48.5cm, just like her mum. :)

So it is perfectly possible that your boy will not grow much more :luck: :luck: :luck:

My pups (the two boys I kept) from my English import (Gilnockie dog - Peperone lines) didn't grow anymore after 7 mths, but at the rate they were going I was a bit worried. However I am satisfied now - not as tall as I thought they were going to be.
