thanks for the reminder; I meant to include Pekoes

you can adopt Irish dogs to the UK if transport can be arranged but you'll probably need backup from a more local rescue - for homecheck/reference and for a rescue place for the dog if the adoption doesn't work out for any reason.

Gorgeous dogs , especially the two Wendys and Gracie

actually, I THINK I decided Pekoes was too big to be included on a whippet list ... I don't know what size Hugo is but he is described as a whippetX, the latest of a long line of whippetty lurchers at Dunboyne pound, mostly white, friendly male, needs out soon:

Wilma, a fawn whippet bitch (looks pure whippet), is a new addition at http://www.irishanimals.ie//adoptagreyhound.html

Lola and Phoebe are still on the list, still looking for homes

there was a black and white collie/whippet cross type bitch in Derry pound recently, about 22 in. maybe 4-6 years old, walked well on lead - I don't know if she's gone on to Rainbow or another rescue.

Rainbow is currently advertising a brindle greyhound bitch called "Destiny". She gets on well with other dogs. http://www.rainbowrehoming.com/adopt/dogs_line1.htm

this grey wirehaired lurcher b needs out of Dundalk pound: http://z6.invisionfree.com/Northern_Irelan...ic=3603&hl=

Phoebe, not Pekoes, is the one who is bigger than a whippet. She is still listed at http://www.irishanimals.ie//adoptagreyhound.html as is Leona.

young blue and white Lucy is described as German shepherd/whippet cross who will grow up to be about labrador size: http://www.irishanimals.ie//dublin_homes.html

Hi,

You might want to also check out the local pounds (they only get seven days before the're put down) for example http://www.meath.ie/LocalAuthorities/Envir...DogPound-Meath/

http://www.louthcoco.ie/index.aspx?deptid=...;dpageid=0_dogs

http://environment.southdublin.ie/index.ph...&Itemid=288

Good rescue groups include http://www.dogactionwelfaregroup.ie/

http://www.dogsindistress.org/index.php

http://www.paws.ie/ (specialise in greyhounds)

Irelands awash with homeless dogs good luck in your search.
