Bella, having decided that she would like to stay here with us, forced the issue about the method of transportation for her pack.

The existing Polo GTI accommodation was decidedly cramped and unsuitable.

Lilly being very finely bred (and tiny) refused point blank to be transported in this manner any longer so an adaptation was undertaken yesterday afternoon.

My 4 door GTI hot hatch has now been transformed into the latest Whippet Coupe complete with colour coordinated blankets and adapted dog guard.

It is just as well my children have grown up and left home :teehee:

Even Misty, not known for travelling in a car for any reason, agreed to come for a spin this morning. (Foxy does not do cars at all).

The verdict

:teehee: :teehee: :teehee: Funny how they take over isn't it? I find myself thinking, now Abi is away at Uni, that my little Fiesta could easily accomodate another dog with the back seats down........

Been there, done that!

If Abi is anything like my two, the back seat of your car will be permanently down as you shuttle all her chattels back and forth :sweating:

Yes, I'm dreading having to pack the car up again to bring her home in a few weeks time! When she started last year we had loads of her stuff packed in those vacuum bags so that we could fit everything in the car. I had visions of them re-inflating halfway down the M1, the boot bursting open and knickers flying all over the motorway!! (w00t)

Then we got there and discovered her room was up three flights of stairs! :sweating: :sweating: :sweating:

Your car looks just great for a Whippet Limousine.

I used to have a lovely little Ford SportKa   , but changed it a few years ago for a much more dog friendly Peugeot 206 Estate!! :- :-

Nifty vetbed fitting there, Eve :D

I now opt to only take a maximum of 4 to events these days but I did buy this Merc van last year ............

(w00t) (w00t) jane thats flamming awsum ....now think how many iggys i could fit in ther (w00t) :- i want one :teehee:

WOW!

I could take in more unwanted whippets if I had a setup like yours Jane  . ;)

Only a few problems, I would need to buy a house with a bigger garden to complete the feat.

My GTI was a 40th Birthday present from my OH so I cannot change without hurting his feelings. It is nearly 10 years old tho' ;)

It now works fine for the whippies for short journeys to favourite walks and shopping . I am really pleased with the conversion (apart from needing a Tailgate Guard to stop them jumping out when I open the tailgate. We have my Husbands big tourer for longer journeys in greater comfort (with or without human passengers :)) The vetbed is cheap stuff that I bought on eBay and reall poor quality but ideal for the car and it matched (purely co-incidentally ) as well. Off to see what is available for tailgates ..........

Your Van is fabulous !

Nicky, I recon about 30 Iggys :D

Tailgate guards are completely invaluable, Eve! Brilliant because you can padlock them at shows and events and leave the tailgate open whilst still locking the car :D

I had one fitted to my estate car last year and I really can't imagine life without it

The van is for sale now as I don't use it enough anymore and it seems a waste to leave it standing around

We had a Renault Trafic Van when we were running the packaging business, it was amazing to drive, 6 gears and really quick, nicer than a lot of cars I've driven! It would have been great fitted out the way Jane's van is...... Whippet Taxi :-

PMSL @ 30 Iggies for Nicky..... not sure she needs that much encouragement...just the van! :D
