Hi all

We have two whippets four and one year old.

They are great together but the first five minutes is mad with both nipping at each other when running. Always looks worse than it is!

I assume this is just them having fun?

Like i say after five mins calm down and just run together.

Anyone else experience this, do you just let them run it off?

Thanks diesel and jasper

Typical whippet behaviour! Mine are the same, belt around like idiots growling and grabbing, they get over it behave normally. If you intended to race them, you have to let them off one at a time so they don't think it's okay to grab at the dog next to them!

As pets, just let them have fun.

yes it's a normal behaviour as long as the play-fighting never turns into a serious tiff.

for racing they also have to get used to running with muzzles on. I find mine are so interested in chasing the lure that they forget about the muzzles although at other times they dislike wearing them.
