I was speaking to a chap the other day who had a small pack of bedlington lurchers his latest arrivals were two 6 month old bedlington whippets out of the same litter ; he said it was a buy one get one free deal because the second one was black and white. He explained that he got them from up North and that the breeder couldn't find a home for the other one because of it's colour, too conspicuous for poaching or something. I suppose 1 million candles aren't!! I just wondered if this is a commonly held view?

I have heard this tale many times but as you say if you can't spot a 100000cp lamp you won't spot a running dog of any size

I know it's almost a cliche' but I was just amazed that in that area, I think it was Rochdale not 100% on that though, the breeder had to give the pied pup away. because of this archaic superstition. The new owner told me it was turning out to be the better dog of the two.
