just wondering really whos lucky enough to have a whippet friendly garden ,i think im very lucky to have such a big flat garden for them to play in no steps and well fenced ,the one side is slats but i also have wire mesh covering it which you cant really see in the picks ,id love to plant some flower in there but dfont think they would last long with my lot lol so come on add some pics of your gardens

You do have a good, dog friendly space there Nicky.

But not me. I have the most unsuitable gardens; a series of very small & steep terraces at the back, and an unfenced, stepped garden at the front, the size of a very large picnic blanket. We've planted some box hedging (taking years to grow) and have finally got some low level fencing of sorts to help contain Fred to his own patch of grass rather than the neighbours. Luckily we have lovely neighbours that all like the dogs and come and say hello to them (the kids next door adore Fred), and Fred is very good and doesn't try to run off. Stan on the other hand has to be on lead in the garden.

The upside is that I have some lovely flowers and take a great deal of pride in my garden. Only this morning I was watching all the bees and butterflies on my cottage garden plants. I also have to take the dogs out 3 times a day as it's impractical to let them go to the loo and have a run and sniff about in the garden, and they get some lovely long walks on my days off as I hate seeing them cooped up in the house (although Fred can't go so far these days so the longer walks are curtailed somewhat). We had a lovely walk along our local reservoir early this morning, the water was glass smooth and we were completely undisturbed.

It also prevents me from getting anymore dogs, which in hindsight hasn't been a bad thing really, but that's just my own lifestyle choice. I still love seeing all you multi-dog households on K9.

Your garden is fab......I suppose we don't really .. it is strip like in the front and then back but Sidney goes over the hedge to visit the steers next door when he thinks no one is looking :b we are changing where the gate goes onto the road when we fence up the drive way so the front will be more secure then. Ian is replacing the side fence with brick walls around the back yard so that will be pretty secure when that is finished too.....

well this isnt the most suitable of back gardens but they do have a lot of room. had to block up every hole and raise the fence since we learnt bo to jump over jumps. lol.

We have a large whippet proof back garden with a dog flap into the house so they go in/out when they please

Took a while to whippet proof it though- Although we have 6ft hedging and fencing Verity always managed to find the smallest of holes and escape for a little trot around the village.

Your garden looks nice for them to have a run around- have to say though, that yours must be better behaved than mine, as my 3 would go straight over your fence!!! :b

loverly gardens so far pippywhippet iv never had an escaped whippet yet they dont even bother trying ,although saying that now we have lily we are going to put bush read fencing over the top of the lowest side of the fence just to make shure, not shure how high they will try to jump lol so just in case

Our dogs love our garden - lots of different levels and things to mooch in. Diego is often out entertaining himself for hours on end in the garden! Just been out and taken a couple of pics (excuse the washing!!)

we are lucky enough to have garden where he can run and stretch his legs and is secure but in the winter when the bushes are not so full he can see the when the lady at the back is out and jumps up at the wall with his sweetest look and always gets a treat, little sod. we have another garden in front of this where we have flowers and nice stuff for us to look at but he just doesn't seem to understand that the back garden is his and the other is ours as he digs and pees for England anywhere he fancies! but I don't mind really.

I am a keen gardener and love my flowers, The poor dogs have the patio and driveway It is amazing however what a great time can be had tearing around the ground floor. across the patio and down the driveway again and again and again!. The dogs are compensated by two daily walks

We feel our garden is Whippet friendly, safe and secure but my OH spends hours on it and the girls have no respect, they will chew, rip or destroy anything that accidentially falls in their mouth while out playing!!

Before we moved here we lived in a mediaeval cottage, we didn't have the biggest garden then - so the whips are enjoying life in a 1930's house and the garden that comes with it! :lol:

There's some lovely gardens on here. I think most of you will have seen 'our' garden - only ours until Richard decides to look for a parish elsewhere. But it's the thing we will miss most when we eventually move (unless of course we get something even bigger! :blink: ) Muffin & Jonah love tearing around but it is a bit hair raising at times as there are a few trees and I've always got my heart in my mouth as I watch them zooming around them! (w00t)
