Has anyone any news about the state of the show ground at Windsor, what the weather has been like and what is forecast?

We have been quite lucky here so far but have a poor forecast for this weekend

Have entered but not sure if I will make it due to the weather & the puppy sitter! :(

Apparently the ground is fine and the weather has been glorious sunshine today.

And that was the good news cos the weather is forecast to be flaming awful all weekend :(

HEAVY SHOWERS ON SUNDAY

lucky for me that Monty is a young bouncy boy, full of life, who hasn't yet developed a deep fear of rain and wind :- " and, as a dog person, I gave up years ago being bothered by what the weather can do to my hair, even the power of the elements can't tame that! (w00t)

ive just got back from winsor its been hot and cold all day but dry!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the wet weather tents are outside so is a lot better

Am I being thick ................ how can a wet weather tent be outside??????

Dont take any notice Devonmaid I know exactly what you mean. The outside rings are covered over so can be used in fine or wet weather. They are not cramped into a small space at the back of the benching tents like other shows.

Cheerful aren't we? :- " we've got very heavy showers for tomorrow here  not to mention Sunday!

Not worried about my hair, gave up on that years ago, but after Bath I came back very cold, its age you know (thats before Dolly says anything :teehee: ), and don't relish doing the same again. Not to mention a very fed up & chilled dog who would prefer to stay on the settee :huggles:

On top of that the two little horrors need 'sitting' so giving it very careful thought this time

Have been showing there today. Had several very heavy showers but the rings are holding out well.

In the benching tents it wet and getting muddy.

The car parks could do with straw as starting to turn to mud.......... wellies for the walk in wouldn't go amiss.

Good luck everyone whos going

well done, you just reminded me that I bought some little welly boots at Thame in the summer, I'd forgotten all about them

Really?!  We had one shower late morning here and the rest of the day has been absolutely glorious (and Windsor is only 20 minutes up the road! LOL)

Queenie wouldn't like straw all over her back garden!

I can back Wendy up we really did have several heavy showers..

Got a good few soakings..my OH also said what?? No rain in Reading... :- "

When I left the showground at 4.30pm the car parks were drying out.

But when I'd arrived in the morning nearly went up on ones backside

when walking the girls in (w00t) . I'd also reccommend some decent boots

to walk in.

The members parking this year was at the wrong end for my tent (number 1)

so I had a further walk than I'd normally have in the old parking area.

Plenty of people moaning about trying to find the loos, So to prevent you getting caught short their locations as follows

on the side between tents 1 and 2 they are literally just past tent one if coming in from the old car park area.

The toilets on the otherside are just above the middle gate that they let the traders come in, behind the trade stands..

Might be mad enough to come along and spectate on Sunday but if not

hope you all have fun in the rain o:)

As we are all so caught up in the weather at the moment a good website to check is www.Metcheck.com.

Cant believe it rained at Windsor, it was boiling hot in Slough which is 10 minutes up the road , we were sun bathing in the exercise yard :- "

it was hot here too! however I wouldn't dare sunbath in the exercise yard :- " so had pleasant lunch time walk around the grounds

peeing down here now tho :(

Just spoke to my colleague who is working on the trade stand at Windsor-

BETTER WEAR YOUR WELLIES TOMORROW EVERYBODY!!

Apparently the showground is now like a swamp, and conditions are very boggy :(

I was going to go for a day out, since it's my favourite show, but I think I might stay at home instead- I don't fancy getting soaked!! :- "

Good luck everyone- hope you manage to stay dry :luck:

Yep, OH has just got back from assessing a judge and he confirms the above. He said it is disgustingly boggy and no attempt whatsoever has been made to alleviate the conditions anywhere.

Best take lots of wet wipes to attempt to clean your Whippies up and say a thank you prayer that you haven't got Afghans!! Must be a nightmare (w00t)

Good luck to all entered and be careful, don't want to hear of any injuries due to falling over!!

good luck everyone tomorrow :luck: , hope the weather isnt too bad

much too far for us :D
