Club Report Saturday 25th February 2012
A lovely day of bright sunshine was a welcome greeting for whippet racers at Worcester club this Saturday. It was lovely to see so many people turnout to enjoy a nice day out with their dogs. We started today with the terriers Scruffy, Perkins and newbie Chilli. This was an entertaining race which saw Scruffy take first place, Perkins second and Chilli coming in last. I’m sure that with a bit more experience Chilli will soon become an interesting contender, well done to all. Next we have the A final with Paper Dragon in red, Kung fu Panda in blue, Montana’s impact in white and Sapphire Flash in black, weighing a bit on the heavy side at 20lb and carrying 3lb handicap for winning last week. This was an interesting race which saw Sapphire Flash just losing out on the line to kennel mate Paper Dragon, who took first place. Sapphire flash was followed closely by Montana’s impact taking a respectable third place with Kung fu Panda finishing fourth. Rob Gormley’s fantastic runner ran a brilliant race leading out in front from traps to line, to win the Scratch race. With second place going to Citizen Smiff, third place to Araf and fourth to Faolan. Trial runs today from Come on Bess, Twiglet, Blaze, Toad, Ripley, Merlin, Tigger, Dexter, Archer and Merl. I just like to say thankyou to all that attended a very enjoyable day of racing, well done to all that raced and I hope the fine weather continues.
