Did anyone see the TV news item when a woman on a ‘sledge’ type trolly was pulled by 8 Huskies on a beach and set a World Sprint Record. The distance was 100m and the time was measured as 10.6 secs.

Do you think it would be possible to harness Whippets to attempt to break this record? How many Whippets do you think it would be possible to harness together to go for this record?

We have some flat beaches in EA but I think I would need more than the 3 whippets we have - could anyone loan be some?

I'd personally choose 3 dogs with size and substance, so speed and stamina ......My choices would be Total Disaster  (what a surprise :D ), Exmoor Gold and Old Bean .....but I think you'd need more than 3 Whippets .....Though Jacob, Inca and Miya probably did break this record whilst dragging me face first after a bloody squirrel

Good Question Mark!

If it was only 3 Whippets I think I'd go for a 'big bitch' as lead - Heart's Delight - may be. Then the two in the second row - dogs - stud dogs I think - 30lbs / 32 lbs what do you think - Photo finish, Run at Mill, March Wind. Suggestions?

As a side - good pic of the Dog Cart. Did you know Dog Carts are illegal in the UK? According to my book of all things K9. "Most of those who used (Dog) carts were considered low social class and with society as it was then (early 19th Century), there was no duifficulty in getting the act passed."

Look like I fit the bill then!! (w00t)
