When i had my whippet 2 months ago she had a small cut in her hear done by one of the other dogs thashe lived with.

She has still got it and it isnt healing it just keeps scabbing over then starts bleeding

is their anything it can to to encourage it to heal  :shaun:

i'd advise that you keep it clean, because if its not healing and keeps scabbing- it could get bigger and infected. It sounds like it could be a deep cut if its been there for 2 months.

use COOLED, Boiled water from the kettle, add teaspoon of salt and mix until disolved- then just wipe gently the affected area. do this daily

if it doesnt heal, then id be inclined to go to vet- as it may really scar if its deep and been trying to heal. :)

i personally swaer by pure aloe vera, off the plant, used it on burns from cooking, deep cuts with the horses and op site wounds, always found that they heal quicker and with less scarring. if you dont have access to the plant try holland and barrett as they do pure aloe gel at around a tenner? good luck :luck:

We swear by colloidal silver. It has antibacterial, antifungal and all sorts of good properties to help keep the nasties away and aid in healing. I use it for all the cuts and scrapes my girlies get, and used it on Teya's ear when Chelsea mangled it in a spat. It healed up much faster than I expected it to, as I know ears are hard to heal.

Ears are awful to heal aren't they?My friend's Lurcher caught her ear over a year ago and even though it has healed she still manages to open it up again every so often.

Ears can be the very devil to heal - I always recommend cut/heal because it heals from the inside and you do not need to cover the wound.

Because it is kept supple, scabbing is avoided and this in turn usually stops the dog scratching.

Good luck.
