Not only dogs but cats too !

I haven't much faith when people can't microchip their dogs .....

Or keep the chip updated... I still think it's worth doing though, as cats are more prone to wandering and getting into trouble than dogs.

I think it's a great idea, I don't understand why people don't bother:(. Even my ferrets have all been chipped!

I found a dead cat a couple of years ago, just laying on the pavement, he looked like he was sleeping in the sun. I did the obvious of knocking on all the doors in the close area but no one knew him. So I scooped him up and took him to my vets where they scanned him and found he was one of their clients. At least the owner, albeit given sad news, knew what had happened and that her cat was not just missing forever... I always feel the not knowing must be the hardest thing to bare...

If it stops people turfing out their cats to stray and cause problems to others, and especially for wildlife, I'm all for it. I do wonder how and whether it would be enforced, though.
