Hooray , it rained last night ! and its going to rain all through the bank holiday apparently:rolleyes:
It rained here last night, I was so happy I just shouted 'HAS IT REALLY RAINED?' when I looked out of the window this morning, I scared the dogs & woke up my daughter.

I've just done a plant inspection & everything has had a good watering, so that's one less job to do this evening.

I've been out on my scooter a lot more recently and I can say absolutely there are more flying bugs around this year as they keep hitting me in the face or eyes at speed!😂

My mum always used to warn me about letting ladybirds crawl on my hand because they bite! I got bitten by a tortoise once, it actually 'chased' me (I was only little), and left a triangular shape bite in my foot...another random child hood memory!!😂

One of the tortoises I used to work with would chase & try & nip students' feet!

Have to say I've never been bitten by a ladybird & I've handled quite a few, but I'm sure they can, as most beetles have pretty powerful jaws.

I've noticed that especially in the woods for some reason. Been bitten by mozzies How do they get into those parts of the body that never see daylight!

It's a mystery how they always get to the oddest, hardest to reach places.

The worst place I've ever been bitten is on the eyelid :emoji_anguished:

I think we need to know more!

I used to work as a tech/dem at the local agricultural college & supervised practicals in the Animal Care Centre.

We would give regular free range time to the bigger exotics- George the veiled chameleon, the various Hermann's tortoises & the box turtle, the bearded dragons & Timmy the Horsefield tortoise.

Timmy was a bit of a temperamental so & so, & during his free range time he'd sometimes just decide to target someone's feet for the fun of it, & follow them determinedly around the room.

As we all wore soft soled shoes when working with the exotics, birds & small animals he could give a good nip if he got the chance.

Luckily he was very easily distracted by strawberries 😂
