I got invited over from a different forum despite not having dogs, I have two cats, can't currently have a dog but hoping to one day get a greyhound (eventually)

Won't happen any time soon, sadly, and depends if when I move I get somewhere suitable for a greyhound

Welcome! I'm another who can see a greyhound in my (hopefully not too distant) future. Such great dogs.

Hi and welcome from me too.
Having a dog in the present time isn't compulsory, I'm currently just sharing my home with a beautiful, elderly corn snake!

Oh and a husband...🙄😂

Is it okay to just have cats, on here? Cause it's a dog forum

13+year old cat Tigger is close to getting put on palative care (she will go on it once her organs start to fail, currently she has issues from a injury back in 2020 she got violently attacked by the bully cat in the neighbourhood just cause she tried to be friends) she was in severe pain until the vet put her on the solensia injections, which is the only pain relief she can have as she had allergic reactions to the others the vet tried, she's intolerant to multiple cat foods as well) vet hasn't come out and said palative care but she has said Tigger has dementia now, things can only go downhill for her

10 year old girl cat Willow, she has cystitis which gets aggravated by stress, so even if I did have someone who could watch a dog, Willow couldn't cope. Last thing that stressed her out made her wee blood into the litter tray.

So yeah, both cats at this stage wouldn't cope with a dog.

Just at the moment Tiggers feeling the need to tell the dining room table it's evil ( since her dementia she's started to believe the table is out to get her) not helped by the fact she's blind in her left eye .....

From the rules: "do not over up threads" What's this mean?

Sorry learning issues plus mental illness - fun (not)

Sure it is! You're interested in dogs, and that's enough - and there's plenty of cat lovers here too. I'm sorry both your cats have their troubles, but they're lucky to have you to care for them.

'Up overing' threads mean to bump them - so if someone started their thread a while back, it dropped out of view as new threads started, and they then made a random post in the thread to get it to the top again, that would be frowned on. But don't worry too much about the rules - if you inadvertently break a rule, post in the wrong section or whatever, we won't get snotty about it but will just let you know. What's acceptable varies from forum to forum, and we don't expect everyone to go through all the rules with a fine-tooth comb :)

There are rules?? Ooops....😁
there was rules but someone pee'd on the rulebook, thinking it was the litter tray :D

editing so I don't get banned in less than a week: was trying to be funny

🤣 I once came across a forum that had just one rule: 'Don't be a d***'. I liked that. And to reiterate, if some does, say, forget it's a family forum or that it pays to be nice, we shall just have a gentle word in their ear and forget it. I think the main rule of importance apart from that is that we don't allow sales of pets, or requests for money (however deserving, as we can't vet them all).
