We were thrilled to see the Dartmoors fairly close by, tiptoeing around to try not to scare them off... but it turned out they weren't at all bothered even when we were just a few yards away.

Got caught up in a ruckus amongst them one day...........they don't care about you then Quite scary

Thank you @ForestWomble I love doing jigsaw puzzles too and am fascinated by History. Ancient Egypt is really interesting. I also love documentaries about Henry VIII and his wives.

Have you ever watched Inside the Tower of London?
It follows the Beefeaters who live and work there, but there is an historian who talks about some part of the towers history, this can include any time, but Henry VIII and his wives get mentioned quite a lot.

I think I have seen some of her programmes, quite a few years ago now though.

I enjoy The Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm and Wartime Farm with Ruth, Peter and Alex, they live and work for a year as you'd have lived at that time, there have been others in this series as well, always have Ruth and either Peter or Alex with another man, the 'latest' was Ruth, Peter and another man, afraid I don't remember his name, doing a year at a medieval castle in France (helping to build it and also showing how the workers would have lived, it's fascinating)

Also enjoy programmes hosted by Bettany Hughes and also Alice Roberts.

Besides dogs, my other main hobby is bell ringing. The several hundred Kg ones you control with a rope [like this], rather than handbells you hold directly. It's really good exercise (for the top half of the body anyway), has a lot of maths/ patterns for the brain, and the people are generally all really nice. Most of my local in person friends are ringers. I go to practices for myself several times a week in various places, ring for special occasions like weddings (especially at the minute), as well as teaching beginners the basics.

I used to do various other things, but there's not enough time!

We have quite a lot of wildlife in the garden though too. A woodpigeon and a jackdaw family that return year on year (various other birds, but I'm not so great on ID), and freshwater shrimp and frogs/ toads in the beck. Previously quite a lot of woodmice, shrews, and voles (the voles are my favourite) but there's an unhelpful free ranging neighbourhood cat now and I haven't seen anyone small in a while. Also hedgehogs, occasional foxes/ badgers, and an otter sometimes vists the village.

I bet that sounds amazing for couples and their guests at weddings. I love to hear bellringing. Your garden sounds lovely.

I have quite a few crafting hobbies, my favourite is drawing with pastels although I haven't done any since before I got pregnant, I really need to get back into it. Although not easy with a newborn who never wants to be put down

The photo doesn't show it, but it's a scarf. I'm doing another one, having worked out what the pattern really means I thought id do another while it was fresh in my mind.

That, and that the pattern said I needed 400g of grey wool - i only used half of the first 100g ball
