Don't forget - as my vet says, we don't get a perfect bowel movement every time either! I think your dog is showing that he has a healthy gut and deals with each meal according to his needs on the day.
Have you ever seen proper Bassets that hunt in packs, JudyN? Unmistakably Bassets but far better made. Sometimes the front wrist joints could do with improving but they are bred for work not showing. They have the most wonderful voices.
