Two Little Lurcher Pups Looking For A Home

OMG......it never ceases to amaze me that people can sink so low..........

People can be so cruel sometimes - thank goodness for the good ones (like Jane). Bryn looks exactly like I imagined my ideal dog would look (before I got into whips) - my heart did a little leap when I saw him!

Hope these two find the home they deserve soon

What gorgeous pups, but horrible that people can sink so low

Sadly there are so many lurcher pups in rescue at the moment, GAP recently took in a mum and a whole litter of pups that had been dumped in a layby on a main road. I really don't understand people sometimes

Oh this awful, yesterday morning 5 dogs were found by a gate at Bath RSPCA.

Hoping for good homes and happy endings.

i knew i should of not looked :( :( poor little mites, how can anyone do this

When I was doing my volunteer walking at our local Retired Greyhound Trust this morning a lady stopped us to say that about half a mile away she'd seen someone stop their car, dump a greyhound and speed off :( This dog was in distress, a few nice passers by had stopped and were trying to catch the dog but weren't having much luck as it was so scared. Our Trust organiser took a couple of our rescue greys up to try and tempt the dog while we continued walking the other rescues but I've not heard whether he was successful. Makes you ashamed to be human sometimes.

Unbelievable cruelty :(

Please let us know if this grey was rescued when you get a chance :)

That really make me so fecking angry greyhounds are one of the most despensible dogs i have ever known

there is no excuse for dumping a dog, there is so many greyhound trusts and rehoming organisations about

or even do the dog a favour and pts i know thats hard but at least there would a lot less of these unfortunate souls being dumped and ill treated

I would love to have them must the wife say we have to many already. lol

Merry xmas jane and new year.

Sadly there are too many litters being born people think its an easy way of making some money and flood the market with pups and there just isnt always the homes for these poor pups.As good breeders know once they are up running around and making a mess like they do , if your not prepared to clean up after them and give them the care they deserve then you shouldnt breed them. Another problem lies with stud dog owners if you dont think a bitch is suitable to be bred from wether it be type , temperament, or ownership THEN DONT LET THEM USE YOUR DOG. You are as much to blame as the breeder. Sorry to be blunt but its true and we woulnt have these poor lurchers in rescue Thats got it off my chest so just to say happy new year to all lurcher folk.

There are about 10,000 dogs registered to race on British tracks each year (Lord Lipsey's figures) so there are presumably about the same number retiring each year - that's not taking into account those racing on unregistered tracks and those who are bred for racing but don't make the grade and are never registered. There will never be enough retirement homes or rescue places for those sort of numbers :(
