Free speech does not give to everybody the right to say or post everything they wish regardless how hurtful, insulting and false it may be. I pity those who feel so inferior themselves that they have the need to belittle others on the bases of sex, sexuality or race. I also find offensive the gratuitous use of bad language by some people on k9, not to mention their use in signatures. The photo of a child after a dog attack was shocking, disturbing, but I think it was also good to show what a dog can do if not supervised properly. If looking at the photo made just one person to be more careful with their dogs and kids, then it was worth it.
As far as people being offended by dressed dogs goes, well that is just too ridiculous. As long as the dogs do not suffer, and I am sure they do not. In any case many of these photos are not even real, the dogs are dressed by Photoshop, or just dressed for some parade. And yes it is silly, but unless k9 becomes swamped by dogs in costumes, which would be annoying, it really is totally irrelevant.
